Vysis LSI SRY SpectrumOrange DNA probe hybridizes to band Yp11.3 of human chromosome Y. The hybridized probe fluoresces with moderate intensity both in interphase nuclei and on metaphase chromosomes. In interphase nuclei of normal male cells, the probe generally appears as one distinct signal. It may also appear as two signals depending upon the condensation of the DNA and the relative distances between chromatids. The signals may also appear diffuse or split.
